Frequently asked questions

What does SatvikScan show for a product?

SatvikScan displays stored product information including Guna classification, Vegan, Vegetarian and Jain-friendly status, ingredients where available, and selected nutrition or processing information.

Does the website analyse ingredients itself?

No. This website presents product data already produced by the SatvikScan product system. It does not perform ingredient analysis in the browser.

What is the difference between Sattvic and Vegan?

Vegan status indicates whether a product contains animal-derived ingredients. Sattvic is an Ayurvedic classification. A product can be Sattvic but contain dairy, or Vegan but be Rajasic or Tamasic.

What does Jain-friendly mean on SatvikScan?

Jain-friendly indicates that SatvikScan has not detected ingredients commonly excluded under the site’s Jain dietary rules, including onion, garlic, root vegetables, meat and eggs. Always check the current physical label.

Can I rely on a pending community submission?

No. Pending community submissions have not completed moderator verification and their product details or classifications may change. Check the physical product label before making a dietary decision.
